I own a house in Durham about 15 minutes (7-8 miles) north of Duke campus. It is a one story, three bedroom, two bathroom, 2000+ square foot home. There is a lot of space. Everything except for the bedroom (14x12ft) available for rent is fully furnished (washer/dryer included). The fridge and stove are new and there is hardwood flooring in the kitchen and a fireplace in the living room.
Utilities (electricity and wireless internet) are split up accordingly. Rent for a bedroom is $400/month plus whatever utilities for the month are. Internet is $35/month (divided accordingly; its split up by all who use it) and electricity varies with the season but ranges from $30-50/month per person. I do not have cable, but you are more than welcome to get cable for your own enjoyment.
The room is available now for a 12 month lease. Deposit of $100
The rooms are very spacious. You will be sharing a bathroom but will have your own sink. The house is very pet friendly. I have a cat and a dog (he's a beagle).
