Why: Please join us for the GPSC General Assembly meeting on November 11th from 6:30 - 8:00pm.  Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend and you do not have to be a GPSC Representative to come to the meetings.  For this meeting, our guest speaker is Dr. R. Sanders Williams who is the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and the Senior Advisor for International Strategy.  He is Duke's chief advisor for university initiatives outside the United States.  Dinner will be provided.

Race Judicata 5K Run/Walk to Support Duke Law's Public Interest Law Foundation

Where: The Al Buehler Trail around the perimeter of the Washington Duke golf course, start/finish and post-race entertainment at grassy field east of the Washington Duke Inn on 751 (between Duke University Road and Science Drive).
Why:

The race will be held on October 25, 2008. Registration opens at 7:00 a.m., and the race begins at 8:30 a.m. The experience will include live music, food, a raffle, t-shirts, and prizes. There will be prizes for top three overall male and female finishers, top male and female age group finishers, and specialty divisions.

Location: Al Buehler Trail around the perimeter of the Washington Duke golf course, start/finish and post-race entertainment at grassy field east of the Washington Duke Inn on 751 (between Duke University Road and Science Drive).

Age groups: > 20, 20-39, 40-49, 50-59, ≥ 60

Registration Fee: a $20 donation to PILF is strongly encouraged for those wishing to participate in the 5K run/walk, and includes a free race t-shirt (while supplies last). The live music is free and open to all.

Parking: community members may park in the Al Buehler Trail cross-country lot (on 751 west of the Washington Duke Inn). Duke students and faculty, please park in your regular campus lot.

Young Trustee Screening Committee Nominations

Nominations for the 2008 - 2009 Screening Committee are currently being accepted.  You may nominate yourself or another Graduate and Professional student.  Nominees do not have to be GPSC representatives.  The Assembly will elect a Chair and six other members to the screening committee.  Members of the screening committee are ineligible to run for Young Trustee.  Nominees should be available to attend the September 23rd General Assembly meeting which is when the assembly will elect the committee. Nominations will be accepted via email up until September 22nd at 5:00pm.  Nominations may also be made from the floor of the general assembly meeting on September 23rd.  If you would like to make a nomination, please email our attorney general, Yvonne Ford at yvonne.ford@duke.edu with the subject line "Screening Committee Nomination".
