I am looking for a roommate to share my three bedroom, 1.5 bath house in Old West Durham.

The house is on Green Street, walking distance to 9th street and East Campus and a quick bike ride away from West Campus. Two grocery stores are in walking distance as well as a number of cafes, restaurants and bars. With a total of 1400 square feet the house has a living room, dining room, newly updated kitchen (with a gas range) and three bedrooms. Hardwood floors throughout the house. One bedroom is mine, one will be yours, and the third bedroom, located in the front of the house with windows on two walls, will be our shared office. There is a great front porch and a fenced in back yard with a locked shed, perfect for bikes, outdoor gear and tools for projects. The small service porch out back has a washer and drier. I have a couple of spare bikes in the shed that you are welcome to use/have. They need a little love, mostly just need new tires. There is off street parking.

About me: I'm a first year student at Fuqua and a 2001 graduate of Duke. My background is in the maritime and outdoor education industries. I am independent, open minded, laid back, love to travel (which is reflected in the art that is on the walls of the house so far) and clean. I'm looking to live with a graduate student or professional who is of similar temperament. Home, to me, is a place to relax, a haven away from work or school. I love to share a cup of coffee in the morning and meals when schedules overlap. I'm also up for sharing a beer at the end of the day and having small get togethers occasionally, having friends over to grill in the backyard.

A well trained, well loved dog is fine, no cats please.

Description:

A female roomate needed for a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom apartment in Chapel Tower which is 10
minutes of walk from West Campus of Duke University for a 12-month contract (sublease allowed).

The base rent for the apartment is $570, but it is free for the rest of August and
September, so with that in mind the actual monthly rent per person will be
around $260. Utilities (trash, sewer and water are included).

My only requirement from a potential roommate is that she be a tidy and
responsible person, and not smoke in the apartment.

I just bought a three bedroom, 1.5 bath, 1400 square foot house on Green Street, walking distance to 9th street, East Campus and a very short bike ride to West Campus and the surrounding professional/graduate schools. I'm looking for someone to share my house with me. You will take one room, I'm in another and the third will be our shared office. Other rooms include a dining room and living room and a beautiful, well stocked kitchen. There is a washer and drier at the house on a service porch out back and a front porch with a ceiling fan. There is both central heat and air and hardwood floors throughout.

The house has a fenced in yard and a work shed in the back for storage of bikes, tools and other outdoor gear. I will have a deck put on the back by the middle of September at the latest. Your room needs painting and I will paint it for you, and you can choose the color as long as it isn't too insane (no fuschia or neons, please). Rent is $700/month plus half utilities (water, electric, gas and internet).

About me: I'm female and a first year Fuqua student, returning to school after seven years in the outdoor education and maritime industries. I have traveled a lot and love music, many different kinds of music. I did my undergraduate studies at Duke, majoring in Environmental Science and Policy at the Nicholas School. I like living with folks who do their own thing but aren't opposed to occasionally sharing a beer or a cup of coffee and swapping stories. I'm hoping to put in a garden at he house.

You: Male or female, open minded, laid back and looking to live in a clean space that is a haven from work/school. Open to having folks over occasionally for meals and maybe small gatherings but generally looking for a less busy space to relax and/or study. Maybe you have a dog? Your room has a private half bath with bonus 50's color scheme. The house is furnished except your room. We'll split utilities (your share should be around 60/mo).

I'm a 29 year old PhD student. I like outdoorsy stuff, cooking, ultimate frisbee, and the idea of working less than I do. There is no third roommate - the third bedroom is an office / storage room.
