Association for India's Development (AID) is a volunteer movement committed
to promoting sustainable, equitable and just development. In solidarity with
non-violent people's struggles, AID supports grassroots organizations in India
and initiates efforts in various interconnected spheres such as education,
livelihoods, natural resources, health, women's empowerment and social justice.
At Duke University, we work closely with student community by representing the
Indian graduate students at campus-wide events like Springternational and Inter-
national foodfest. More importantly, we hold lectures and seminars by prominent
social workers and long term partners to create awareness about issues facing India,
that are often globally relevant, among students and individuals in the larger Triangle
community. We also conduct cultural and sporting events to raise funds to support
selected projects submitted by our NGO partners in India.
