I will be an official Duke student this upcoming July. Starting the Ophthalmic program at the Eye Center and I was wondering how I would go about getting basketball tickets for the upcoming season? If you could let me know and about how much they go for it would be appreciated.

I like Snow White Cleaners on Hillsbourough Rd next to Kroger...they are reliable and efficient and always pleasant.

I second that the dry cleaners on Hillendale are good, but with a note of caution: their prices are very expensive, so I only take my nicest stuff to them (about $8-9 for a dress). Also, because they use finer and less harsh chemicals, don't expect them to be able to get out stains.

The Dry Cleaning Station on Hillandale Rd is a good option that uses environmentally friendly cleaners. I have used their services a couple of times and been quite happy.

Why: Looking for an excuse to get out of lab/library early on a May Friday? Come help us beautify the courtyard of this Durham Elementary school. Pull weeds, add mulch, plant perennials and seeds to help bring new life to this courtyard that was left lifeless by new construction. The courtyard is the primary playground for preschool and kindergarten classes. And all students see the courtyard as they walk around the school. A few hours of hard work will really pay off by beautifying the space and attracting birds and butterflies. Please RSVP to Julie Roy at jar7@duke.edu

I don’t know if the email list referred to in this thread actually exists (or at least I’ve not received anything from it). So, in order to facilitate meeting hikers and campers, I’ve made a facebook group “The Great Outdoors”, which is open to all at Duke. I am not an avid facebook user, but it’s a start.

TGI Friday's is also going to have sesame chicken (their signature dish), spinach dip, and club sandwiches for us.

BUT, get there before 11!!! They can't let anyone in after that, but we can stay there as long as we want. They're gonna have 4 bartenders on for us ready to get us fast service, so come on out for the last Thirsty Thursday of the year... and come thirsty!
