Every group MUST RE-AFFILIATE on/after 9/1/07 and before the funding cycle deadlines to be eligible for funding for the 9/07-8/08 academic year. For more information, please e-mail <a href="mailto:jessica.bardill@duke.edu">Jessi Bardill</a>, the Student Groups Liaison, or <a href="mailto:%20gpsc@duke.edu">GPSC</a> with the subject line &quot;Group Affiliation.&quot; </p> <h3>What can GPSC do for student groups?</h3> <p>One of GPSC&#39;s primary goals is to support student groups that offer social, community service, volunteer, and academic events for the graduate and professional community. GPSC can offer student groups support through the provision of funding, advertising and networking with other organizations. Guidelines on GPSC affiliation are given below. The types of events that GPSC sponsors, application deadlines, and preparing the Group Funding Application are available on the <a href="/groups/funding">funding</a> page.</p> <h3>GPSC Group Affiliation</h3> <p>Any graduate or profession student group can apply for GPSC affiliation. Applying for affiliation is the first step in benefiting from all of the support that GPSC offers student groups! Affiliation is required to receive group funding, but all groups are encouraged to affiliate and seek GPSC support, whether or not funding is requested.One way that GPSC serves student groups is by maintaining a web page with group contact information, including a link to each group&#39;s webpage (if available). The objective of this web page is to provide a resource for all students seeking to become associated with student groups as well as an opportunity for groups to disseminate information.GPSC also publicizes events of affiliated groups through regular e-mail publication of <a href="/gpscnews">GPSCNews</a> announcements.Another way GPSC serves student groups is through our Student Leader Receptions. Each group that affiliates will receive an invitation to send one student leader to the reception. This event enables student leaders to network with one another and receive advice from GPSC Executive Officers on how to receive support for upcoming events. Information about Student Leader Receptions will be sent out to affiliated groups via e-mail. </p> <h3>Who is affiliated?</h3> <p>GPSC maintains a <a href="/groups/affiliated">list of currently affiliated groups</a>. We encourage you to check this list often, as it changes frequently. It&#39;s full of groups that are serving the graduate and professional community. Groups on this list are eligible to receive GPSC funding and benefits.
