Claims Issue:

* StudentResources has a different claims address than United Healthcare, in fact, the are a completely different division. Many providers were incorrectly filling claims with the wrong insurance company. This is difficult to spot since the rejection will come from United Healthcare and look like it is from our insurer. See:

and look for, "How-to: Correct the in-network claims errors from your providers."
* For those of you who have had claims rejected or know people who have, please ask them to first contact their provider and have them refile the claim under the correct electronic filing code that is on the back of your ID Card. If you have any questions, please contact customer service.

Customer Service

* There have been many complaints about Customer Service. In order for us to address those complaints we need to provide the calls that we want to use as examples. Please fill out the survey at: http://gpsc.duke.edu/survey/StudentResources_Customer to tell the GPSC Committee about your experience. You do not need to provide your any self-identifying information (except to log-in) if you don't want to, but we will need your name and phone number that you called from or SR ID number to track the call.

To enroll or waive out of the insurance:

* Duke has an insurance requirement. If you have comparable insurance, you do not need to have this plan. This must be done before the end of the open-enrollment window at the beginning of each academic year. The electronic forms are located at:

* For other enrollment questions, such as enrolling an dependent (mid-year), contact customer service.

Beaufort Providers:

* Students at the Duke University Marine Lab in Beaufort, NC should be aware of the network increases that have been made but not on the website yet. A listing of these will be posted on the GPSC Insurance page.
* If you know of a provider that you would like to have added to the Duke network, please send the name, address, and phone number to the GPSC Health Insurance Committee.
