Trees like ash, sycamores, and oaks are not only beautiful, they can also provide shade and improve aquatic habitat. Stream banks in the Piedmont are forested in their natural state. These forested areas, or "buffers," protect the stream bank from erosion and prevent pollutants from entering the stream and getting into our drinking water supplies.
Please join us as we plant native trees from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm in East

Many students have found that they want to volunteer more than once a month or that they are repeatedly unable to attend our worktrip dates due to scheduling conflicts. These students sometimes coordinate their "unofficial" worktrips through our graduate and professional student listserve - habitat4humanity@duke.edu. You can sign up for this listserve at http://lists.duke.edu/sympa/help.
