Am looking for someone (doctor/clinic) who can help me deal with gastrointestinal problems (IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome), change of diet, stress, and low immune system issues. I dont want a doctor who is going to just give me a prescription for some drug so am thinking some sort of alternative medicine or naturopathy would be best - although I honestly dont know alot about it. Any ideas on where to start looking in the Durham area would be appreciated. Cost of course is an issue, but at this point my health needs to take precedence. Thanks for any suggestions.
Where to go for Alternative Medicine/Naturopathy?
integrative Medicine
Is Duke integrative medicine holistic or natureopathic ?
alternative medicine
My mom goes to the Beverly Medical Center in Raleigh. The Doctor is Dr. Beverly Good. She is amazing! i totally recommend her. There are insurance issues though
Check out Duke Integrative
Check out Duke Integrative Medicine - it's located on Erwin and you can find info about it on the Duke website. Alternatively, have you thought about Reiki? If so, email me and I can give you the email of a Reiki Master in the area.
For $50 and 1 hour, I can
For $50 and 1 hour, I can poke you with needles and give you strange herbs. It will probably be as effective as any professional acupuncturist or herbalist treatment. While providing this treatment, I will speak in a gentle voice about how holistic and non-western the experience is, and how my treatment cannot be judged by the absence of positive evidence in blind clinical trials, because blind clinical trials are reductionist and western and evil. ;)
I highly recommend you try
I highly recommend you try acupuncture. I have been using it for years for stress, pain and general increased energy. I use Ian Florian, trained in classical acupuncture. She is located on Broad Street. 416-0675. She may be taking on new clients.
