Men's Basketball Graduate Section Policies

5 Sentence Announcement Summary:

As the Men’s Basketball regular season gets into full swing and we move on to the NIT Season Tip-Off, we want to reiterate and clarify some of the policies for the Graduate Student section in Cameron.

1. Absolutely NO BAGS OF ANY KIND will be allowed into the Graduate Student section of Cameron. This includes backpacks, messenger bags, and purses. There is no storage for these items at the door or in Cameron. Students arriving at the Graduate Student entrance with bags will be turned away at the door. Students who leave the line to take care of bags MUST RETURN BEFORE THE DOORS ARE CLOSED or they will not be admitted to Cameron.

2. A ticket card only guarantees admission to games up to 5 minutes before the scheduled tip-off. An unobstructed view of the court is not guaranteed. At that point, space-permitting, the walk-up line is admitted to Cameron. Students with ticket cards can still enter the game once the walk-up line has been admitted, but the ticket card does not guarantee admission at that point. Please be advised that a rush of people arriving 5 minutes prior to tip-off will cause students to be late and miss tip-off. The doors to the Graduate Section will be closed no later than 15 minutes after tip-off. Once the doors to the Graduate Student entrance are closed, there will be no additional students admitted into Cameron.

3. Children are not allowed in the Graduate Student section of Cameron for their own safety. While some exhibition games are sometimes set aside as “family games”, these are special events and will not happen again during the season unless specifically announced. As a result, graduate students with children will be turned away at the door.

4. All students will be “wrist-banded” prior to entering Cameron. If a student is wrist-banded and leaves the line for any reason, having a wrist-band does not guarantee admission. Once the doors have closed, no additional students will be admitted into Cameron, including students with wrist bands. With the new seating arrangement for graduate students in Cameron ushers will be distributing wrist bands (two different colors designating the two different ends of the court) to graduate students in line and at the door to Cameron. In order to sit in any portion of the graduate student section you MUST wear a wrist band. Students will have an opportunity to choose whether they sit in section 18 (the new section) or sections 20 and 19 (the old sections) , until seating is full at either end of the court. Students sitting in sections 19 and 20 will access their seats as they have in past seasons. Those students choosing to sit in the new section, section 18, will swipe in as usual, then use the concourse (the hallway around the top level of Cameron) to access Section 18. The same procedures will be in effect anyone waiting in the walkup line.

5. There is absolutely no re-entry into Cameron. If a student leaves Cameron at any point (pre-game or during the game), they will not be re-admitted to Cameron.

6. We would like to remind you that no tickets may be sold to any other students for more than $7.50 or your ticketcard will be de-activated.

We understand that it may take some time for everyone to adjust and become familiar with this new system. We hope you all will be patient with the Graduate Student Ushers as well as the Athletics Staff as we work through the kinks that come along with having a new section in Cameron. The Men's Basketball Program as well as the rest of Athletics is very excited about these changes, and are looking forward to seeing how we as fans can add to the "Cameron Crazies Atmosphere".

Remember to come early and bring your “A-game” – posters, body paint, costumes, and craziness – to the NIT Season Kick-Off and every game for the rest of the season.

GO DUKE!!
