Why: On Opting Out? by Pamela Stone: "Noting a phenomenon that may seem to recall a previous era, NY Times recently described women who leave their careers to be full-time mothers as 'opting out'. But, is this the case? Based on a series of interviews with women who returned home after having children, Stone explores the role that external influences have on women's decisions, and suggests that women are not 'opting out' but instead being pushed out of the workplace."
 
Books are currently available  at the Women's Center (306 Alexander Ave) for $5.
