GPWN: Fingerpainting

Where: Multicultural Center, Bryan Center, Duke West Campus
Why: Bryan Carey, teacher and artist, will lead an introductory lesson in the history of finger-painting and its applications in artistic, educational and therapeutic settings. Participants will receive an introduction to the methods and techniques of originated by Ruth Faison Shaw (1888-1969), including a chronology of her professional life that spanned more than half a century. Mr. Carey is associated with the Shaw School and Studio (http://www.fingerpainting.org/index.shtml).
