!!! Try your hand and surprise yourself !!!
Shyamala Rao, a textile artist from Mumbai, India is currently visiting the USA. She will demonstrate the process, and take you on a journey into the world of color, design, borders, motifs, repeat patterns and more…
Patterns are carved on wooden blocks, which are then dipped in color and stamped on to fabric. One can print on wearables like t-shirts, stoles, scarves, even furnishings like curtains, sheets, table linen.....the possibilities are endless..... So bring your own t-shirt or scarf which you want to get printed and print it yourself (only one item is allowed).
Where – Multicultural Center resource room, on ground floor of Bryan center
When – Oct 7th 2009, 6pm-7pm.
Fees- $5 per person (all proceeds will go to Association for India's development)
