On-Campus Dining Services Committtee

As a law student, I realize how expensive it is to be a graduate/professional student as well as the intense time commitments. The combination of these two concerns makes for a precarious situation with regards to food. After a long day of classes and night of studying, graduate/professional need to have quick and convenient access to affordable food on campus. Most graduate students live off campus, have unusual eating hours and are often new and unfamiliar with the area. On-campus dining service is of particular interest to graduate and professional students. Access and affordability are not just a matter of convenience it is truly a student-welfare issue.I want to work with the Dining Services Committee to address the unique needs and concerns of graduate and professional students.

Duke-Durham Neighborhood Partnership

I have alot of experience working to improve student-neighbor relations at UC Davis. Although Durham is larger than Davis and the student to non-student ratio is alot lower, the same principles of town-gown relations still apply, in particular to the areas where students are most concentrated. I want to actively engage students and the community, to bring all parties involved to find constructive ways to improve relations, promote mutual respect and understanding and constructive dialogue and collaboration to address issues as they arise.
