Duke offers a variety of services for students. This guide highlights some of the services you might use during your graduate student tenure.
Career Center
The Career Center is located in 110 Page Building, and offers resources for Duke students enrolled in the Graduate and Divinity Schools to discuss confidential career-related concerns, obtain career information, initiate a job search, and send recommendations to prospective employers. The Center houses employer files, a database for on-campus recruiting, and correspondence job opportunities. Notices about job-related resources and activities appear in the Center’s “Career Spectrum” on the last page of the Chronicle each Monday. The staff can assist you by helping build a contact network, draft your curriculum vitae or resume, and prepare for interviews.

Center for Teaching, Learning, and Writing
The center works to increase understanding of the teaching and leaning processes and to use that knowledge to enhance education at Duke. The Center offers programs for new and experiences faculty, as well as graduate students preparing to teach.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) 660-1000
CAPS is located in suite 214 Page Building on West Campus, and provides a wide variety of services which are covered under your student health fee. Support groups and counseling groups are available for a wide range of topics and situations. CAPS hours are M-F 8 a.m.-5 p.m. http://caps.studentaffairs.duke.edu/
Computer Help
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides computing support for Duke. OIT offers free short courses on topics such as e-mail, building a home page, and using the World Wide Web. Also, OIT runs a help desk (684-2200) located in 232 North Building. Here you can pick up free software and literature on several computer-related topics such as various e-mail programs, file transfer protocols, and connecting a personal computer to DukeNet.
Help desk hours are M-Th 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; F 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Su 3 p.m.-7 p.m.

The Duke Computer Store 684-8956
Located on the lower level of the Bryan Center. Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Offers computers, peripherals, software, and supplies from major vendors at discounted prices. E-mail questions to cpustore@duke.edu.
