I am interested in the Information Technology Advisory Council (ITAC) because I want to help to ensure Duke's IT meets the needs of its graduate and professional students.  As an undergraduate at Duke I served on ITA, so I have already established good working relationships with the members of the committee and I understand how the committee operates.  I hope to leverage this experience to represent GPSC on ITAC.

I sat on the Information Technology Advisory Committee (ITAC) last year as an undergraduate student representing DSG.  I gave a presentation on the technology needs and concerns of students and sought to be an advocate, bringing to the attention of the committee the potential impacts of the devisions and proposals being discussed.

I have a very strong background in technology.  My undergraduate work was in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science and my graduate work is in Electrical and Computer Engineering.  In addition, I have worked in industry on software and hardware at Qualcomm and Microsoft, so I have experience in how enterprise technology is developed.  These experiences help me to formulate high yet attainable expectations for how Duke IT can serve students.

I have friends and contacts across many different GPSC programs, and those contacts will help me to understand the needs of the various constituencies I would represent.
