This Week (5/19-5/25)

1. Nasher Museum Public Tour

Location: Nasher Museum of Art
Cost: FREE

Individuals , or groups of fewer than 10 people, may take a guided public tour of the Nasher Museum's current exhibitions. Guided tours are also offered Sundays at 2 PM. Tours are free of charge. Tours last approximately one hour.

2. Annual (FUTURE) Doctor Date Auction - Presented by Duke American Medical Association Chapter
When: Fri, May 23rd, 10:00PM -12:00AM

Cost: 6$ at the Door
Come out and bid on some of Duke's most eligible bachelor(ettes), all for a good cause. So grab your cash, look your best, and who knows--with that dim lighting, those soothing sounds, and a little luck--you might just walk away with the ONE.

3. Exploration Station (at Duke Gardens)
When: Sat, May 24th: 1:00-3:00PM
Location: Sarah P. Duke Gardens
Cost: FREE. Parking Fees may apply
Explore the science of plants and animals with seasonal activities for you and your family at this activity station each Saturday in April and May, from 1-3 p.m. Look for the large "Exploration Station" umbrella in the Charlotte Brody Discovery Garden for demonstrations, stories, experiments and hands-on projects.Location: Charlotte Brody Discovery Garden.

MEDMentors at the Durham County Youth Home: TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS
When: Every Tuesday 6:00-7:00PM and Every Thursday 6:00-7:00PM and 7:00-8:00PM

MEDMentors is an all volunteer, student led service organization founded by Duke University School of Medicine that aims to promote the long-term health and rehabilitation of adolescents at Durham's juvenile detention facility by providing health education, one-on-one tutoring, literacy classes, and job skills training several times a week. MEDMentors involves students from many different Duke graduate and professional schools. We're always open to volunteers from within the greater Duke Graduate School Community and would LOVE to add new members. A criminal background check and some simple paperwork is required before you volunteer.

Have a great idea for summer event? Apply for funding through GPSC!!! Applications which serve the community, have academic value, raise awareness or JUST PLAIN ROCK are favored! The Executive Finance Committee will meet after application deadline (May 25, 11:59pm) and make the student group funding decisions.
