Inspired in part by Adele Myers' attempt to get over her fear of falling by enrolling in trapeze school, Einstein's Happiest Thought is a multi-disciplinary work that delves into the charged physical states of risk and anticipation. The title refers to a thought experiment that Einstein claimed led to the happiest thought of his life, about the different ways we experience the same amount of time and space in relation to gravity. Balances look precarious, and dancers examine concepts of falling: falling down, falling over, falling in love, falling into debt.

Celebrate patriotism and civic pride with Durham Parks and Recreation and the Durham Bulls on Friday, July 4, 2014. Attend the baseball game and/or come and enjoy the fireworks. Tickets are required for the game, but gates will open for general admission at the end of the 7th inning. The dynamic fireworks show will begin immediately following the game.

MEDMentors is an all volunteer, student led service organization founded by Duke University School of Medicine that aims to promote the long-term health and rehabilitation of adolescents at Durham's juvenile detention facility by providing health education, one-on-one tutoring, literacy classes, and job skills training several times a week. MEDMentors involves students from many different Duke graduate and professional schools. We're always open to volunteers from within the greater Duke Graduate School Community and would LOVE to add new members. A criminal background check and some simple paperwork is required before you volunteer.
