Applications for graduate and professional student Young Trustee are now being accepted. The Young Trustee serves as the voice of the graduate and professional student body on Duke University’s Board of Trustees. For a description of the position and application instructions, please visit:

All current professional or graduate students, as well as students who have graduated in the spring or summer terms of 2012, are eligible to apply. The application deadline is December 16.

5. Handel's Messiah

The Duke Chapel Choir’s performance of Handel’s Messiah is a celebrated annual holiday tradition in the Duke and Durham community. This year’s performances of the Baroque masterpiece will feature Rodney Wynkoop conducting and David Arcus performing the continuo, with professional soloists and orchestra.

6. Duke Medicine Orchestra Winter Concert
When: Sun, Dec 2nd: 6:30-8PM
Location: Reynolds Theater

In this special event, Duke Medicine Orchestra will be joined by vocal soloist and Duke University Hospital President Kevin Sowers, RN, MSN, FAAN to play classical repertoire. The concert will include pieces by Johann Strauss, Claude-Michel Schonberg, Antonin Dvorak and Johannes Brahms. The concert will be held at Duke University's Reynolds Industries Theater.
